Tell your Councillor: Vote against “Zionism is Not Racism” motion
On Wednesday 11 November, Westminster Council will be voting on a “Zionism is Not Racism” motion, and we need as many Westminster residents as possible to email their councillors to vote against it.
The motion makes no reference to Palestine, Palestinians, or the Palestinian experience of Zionism. In effect, it erases Palestinians. This is itself racist and wrong, a chilling echo of Israel’s attempts to physically erase the Palestinian people from their homeland - a project underpinned by the widely used and false claim that Palestine was “a land without a people” before the state of Israel was established.
The motion is a racist attempt to intimdate and silence those speaking out for the Palestinian people, and against Israel's ongoing genocide and apartheid.
