Email your MP: Take urgent action for the hunger strikers

John McDonnell MP has tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament, demanding that the government urgently meet with the legal representatives of the pro-Palestine activists who are currently on hunger strike in prison.

Heba Muraisi is at the time of writing on day 67 of her hunger strike, and Kamran Ahmed is on day 60. They are on hunger strike in protest over the repressive and inhumane conditions of their detention, and Britain’s complicity in Israeli crimes. Their health has been deteriorating rapidly and they are now at grave risk of death.

Despite the public outcry over this crisis, along with calls from MPs, Peers and human rights advocates for intervention, the government has refused to meet with the families or legal representatives of the prisoners.

Tell your MP to urgently sign EDM 2573, calling on the Secretary of State for Justice, David Lammy, to take immediate action to meet with representatives of the hunger striking prisoners, uphold their human rights and meet their demands.
