Email your MP: Join our briefing with a UN expert on the right to protest

The government has added an extreme measure to the Crime and Policing Bill which would give police new powers to effectively ban protests based on their ‘cumulative disruption’. In response, this coming Wednesday (18 March) we’ve organised a briefing for MPs to hear from the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, Gina Romero.

The measure follows a succession of illiberal anti-protest laws, amounting to a major assault on our fundamental democratic rights, and the government is trying to railroad it through parliament to reduce democratic scrutiny. That is why we've organised this briefing, to increase the pressure on MPs to oppose it.
