Tell Keir Starmer: Cancel All Contracts with Palantir

The British government is awarding lucrative contracts to Palantir, which provides AI and surveillance technology used as an essential part of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and wider regime of military occupation and apartheid.

The government is pushing ahead with the roll out of the NHS Federated Data Platform, which is being developed and maintained by Palantir. This is despite major objections on both data privacy and human rights grounds raised by health workers, patients and civil society organisations. In addition, last December, the Ministry of Defence awarded Palantir a £240million contract without a tender process, its largest ever contract awarded by the department.

The close relationship between Palantir and the British government is abhorrent. Write to the Prime Minister Keir Starmer to demand he acts to cancel all government contracts with Palantir.

<div>Dear Prime Minister,</div><div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">I am writing to demand that you act immediately to terminate all government contracts with US spyware corporation Palantir.  </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">It is shameful that the government is awarding lucrative contracts to Palantir, which provides AI and surveillance technology used as an essential part of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and wider regime of military occupation and apartheid. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">Your government is continuing to push ahead with the roll out of the NHS Federated Data Platform, which is being developed and maintained by Palantir. This is despite major objections on both data privacy and human rights grounds raised by health workers, patients and civil society organisations. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">Furthermore, your government is handing new contracts to Palantir, despite the human rights and privacy concerns raised. In February 2025, you visited Palantir’s US headquarters, accompanied by the disgraced former ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson. The following September, your government signed a “strategic partnership agreement” with Palantir, which included a deal for the company to make Britain its “European HQ for defence”.  Three months later, Palantir was awarded a £240million contract by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide data analytics software to support “strategic, tactical and live operational decision making”.  This is the largest ever contract handed to Palantir by the department, and was awarded without a competitive tender process. Furthermore, Palantir’s head in Britain, Louis Mosley, sits on the MOD’s Defence Industrial Joint Council, the primary forum for the MOD’s engagement with suppliers. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">This government’s relationship with Palantir is deeply alarming given the company’s deep involvement in Israel’s crimes against Palestinians. In January 2024, Palantir entered into a “strategic partnership” with Israel’s Ministry of Defence to develop technology and tools to be used in “war-related missions.” This technology has been used to accelerate Israel’s genocide in Gaza, by using AI technology for its bombing campaigns which have destroyed entire neighbourhoods, schools and hospitals. This has allowed the Israeli military to develop, in the words of one former military officer, a “mass assassination factory”.  Palantir’s role in providing Israel with technology used in its genocide in Gaza has been highlighted in a report by the UN Special Rapporteur for human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">Palantir also provides technology used as part of Israel’s surveillance apparatus in the West Bank. Palestinians in the West Bank face constant and invasive observation and monitoring leading to restricted movement and arbitrary arrest and detention in Israel’s prisons, where they face systematic torture. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW163198150 BCX8">A company which has enabled Israel’s genocide and apartheid against Palestinians, along with other human rights abuses across the globe, should not receive a penny of public money or gain access to sensitive NHS medical patient data. I am therefore demanding that as Prime Minister you ensure that all government contracts with Palantir are terminated immediately. </div></div>
