Tell Avon Pension Fund to Divest from Human Rights Abuses
Avon Pension Fund (APF) holds more than £22 million of investments in companies complicit in Israel’s grave violations of international law.
Following member pressure, APF members now have a say on how their pensions are being invested. But shockingly only 20% of the members are allowed to vote. That means 4 in 5 members won’t have a say on whether their deferred pay is invested in arms companies fuelling conflicts around the world.
APF could be one of the first local government pension funds to divest from the arms companies. This could set off a chain reaction for councils across the country; putting real pressure on both these companies and the UK government’s inaction.
Whether you can vote or not, you can make your voice heard below by emailing the APF board and letting them know that you don’t want your money to facilitate genocide.
