On Monday 29 September, Labour Party Conference passed a historic resolution, accepting Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza, and demanding comprehensive sanctions, including a full arms embargo.

This week, Labour Party Conference finally acknowledged that Israel is committing a genocide in the Gaza Strip. On Monday, Labour Party members passed a historic motion, accepting the landmark UN Commission of Inquiry report on Israel’s genocide and demanding the government imposes comprehensive sanctions on Israel, including a full arms embargo.Trade Unions and Labour Party members share the public’s mounting disgust at your ongoing complicity and disgraceful support for Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.  I am writing to call on you to accept the democratic demands of your own party and implement this resolution. This means you must:<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Publicly accept the UN Commission of Inquiry report into Israel’s genocide in Gaza.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Employ all means reasonably available to prevent the commission of genocide in Gaza.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Apply comprehensive sanctions to put pressure on the Israeli government to respect international law, including a full arms embargo and ending all military cooperation.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ban trade with the illegal settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Fully suspend the UK-Israel trade and partnership agreement.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Take coordinated action to end the famine in Gaza by ensuring full access to humanitarian assistance.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure individuals and corporations in the UK are not involved in aiding and assisting Israel’s genocide.</li></ul>This is now official Labour Party policy. As the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Labour Party, you have no excuse not to make it government policy.
