Moreover, the bank has an agreement with Israel to act as a primary dealer for its government bonds. This means the bank directly helps Israel raise money to fund its atrocities

I am writing to inform you that I am boycotting Barclays until the bank stops enabling Israel’s genocide, military occupation and apartheid against Palestinians. Barclays must withdraw as a primary dealer of Israeli government bonds, and end its financial ties to arms companies supplying weapons and military technology to Israel. Israel’s ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip has killed many tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and caused incalculable devastation. Over 800 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since the so called ceasefire came into effect in October 2025. Israel’s blockade continues to prevent the delivery of food, medicines and supplies for reconstruction.In the West Bank, Palestinians are facing an increase in Israeli military attacks, settler violence and forced displacement. In March 2026, the UN Human Rights Office described the current situation as indicating “a concerted Israeli policy of mass forcible transfer throughout the occupied territory.”  Despite this, Barclays continues to provide substantial investment and loans to companies supplying Israel with weaponry used to kill, maim and displace Palestinians. The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which Barclays has committed to in its operations, are clear that businesses and financial institutions must take active steps to “avoid causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts” through both their direct activity and business relationships. Moreover, Barclays maintains its agreement with Israel’s Ministry of Finance to act as a primary dealer of Israeli government bonds. Barclays involvement in Israel’s bond sales was noted by the UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese in a forensic report released last year.It is unconscionable that Barclays continues to facilitate and profit from Israel's war crimes committed against Palestinians. Until you listen to the many tens of thousands across Britain who are demanding that Barclays ends its complicity in Israel’s crimes, I will boycott the bank and will encourage others to do the same.
